Cloud Deployment models
What is cloud deployment model?
Cloud deployment model is the cloud services you are consuming and the responsibility model for who manages them that defines your cloud architecture, scalability of your computing resources, what you can change, the services provided to you, and how much of the build you own.
Cloud deployment model is a type of cloud computing where cloud applications are deployed on a public, private or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
This model helps organizations to access cloud services from anywhere and anytime, without the need of making any changes to the existing infrastructure.
Cloud deployment model also provides flexibility in terms of scalability and cost-effectiveness, as well as security and privacy for organizations.
How to deploy a cloud system ?
There are four primary cloud deployment models :
1. Public Cloud
2. Private Cloud
3. Community Cloud
4. Hybrid Cloud
Each can exhibit the previously discussed characteristics; their differences lie primarily in the scope and access of published cloud services, as they are made available to service consumers.
Public Cloud
What is Public cloud?
The cloud infrastructure is made available to the general public or a large industry group and is owned by an organization selling cloud services.
| Public Cloud Architecture | IndianTechnoEra |
Also known as external cloud or multi-tenant cloud, this model essentially represents a cloud environment that is openly accessible.
Basic characteristics of Public Cloud :
Homogeneous infrastructure
Common policies
Shared resources and multi-tenant
Leased or rented infrastructure
Economies of scale
Private Cloud
What is Private cloud?
The cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an organization. It may be managed by the organization or a third party and may exist on premise or off premise.
| Private Cloud Architecture | IndianTechnoEra |
Also referred to as internal cloud or on-premise cloud, a private cloud intentionally limits access to its resources to service consumers that belong to the same organization that owns the cloud.
Basic characteristics of Private Cloud:
Heterogeneous infrastructure
Customized and tailored policies
Dedicated resources
In-house infrastructure
End-to-end control
Public vs Private Cloud
Community Cloud
What is Community cloud?
The cloud infrastructure is shared by several organizations and supports a specific community that has shared concerns (e.g., mission, security requirements, policy, and compliance considerations).

Hybrid Cloud
What is Hybrid cloud?
The cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more clouds (private, community, or public) that remain unique entities but are bound together by standardized or proprietary technology that enables data and applicationportability (e.g., cloud burstingfor load-balancing betweenclouds).
