A Complete Guide to Jumu'ah Salah: Step-by-Step with Arabic, English, and Hindi Transliteration
Introduction
Jumu'ah Salah, the Friday congregational prayer, is a special obligation for Muslim men, replacing the Dhuhr prayer on Fridays. It’s a time for community unity, reflection, and listening to the Khutbah (sermon). The Quran says, "O you who have believed, when the call is made for prayer on the day of Jumu'ah, then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade" (Surah Al-Jumu'ah, 62:9). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized its importance: "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday" (Sahih Muslim). This guide details the four Rak’ahs Sunnah Mu’akkadah before, two Rak’ahs Fard, and four Rak’ahs Sunnah after Jumu'ah Salah, including Arabic recitations, their transliterations in English and Hindi, and translations. Whether you’re new to Jumu'ah or seeking to perfect your prayer, this blog will help you perform it with devotion.
Understanding Jumu'ah Salah
Jumu'ah Salah is performed in congregation at a mosque after the sun passes its zenith, typically around midday. It consists of four Rak’ahs Sunnah Mu’akkadah (highly recommended) before the Khutbah, two Rak’ahs Fard (obligatory) led by the Imam, and four Rak’ahs Sunnah Mu’akkadah after. The Khutbah, delivered in two parts, is an integral part of Jumu'ah, replacing the two Rak’ahs of Dhuhr’s Fard. The Fard Rak’ahs are recited aloud by the Imam, while Sunnah Rak’ahs are prayed silently and individually. To prepare, perform Wudu, wear clean clothes, apply perfume (for men), and arrive early to listen attentively to the Khutbah. Jumu'ah is obligatory for adult Muslim men in good health; women may attend but can pray Dhuhr at home instead.
Step-by-Step Guide to Jumu'ah Salah
Jumu'ah Salah includes four Rak’ahs Sunnah Mu’akkadah before the Khutbah, two Rak’ahs Fard during the congregational prayer, and four Rak’ahs Sunnah Mu’akkadah after. Below is the detailed process for each Rak’ah, with recitations in Arabic, English transliteration, Hindi transliteration, and translations.
